i was wondering why the nba changed the age limit for players to enter the draft (used to be granted to enter after high school but now have to wait a year and be 19)? what does this do to and for the NBA and the NCAA?

Answer by Vicarius
In the earliest days of the NBA, three players entered the NBA without having played in college (although one of them did not enter the league until he was 27 years old). However, the league eventually established a rule that “a player could not make himself available” for the draft until four years after his high school graduation. (Although educational systems in countries outside the US sometimes differ dramatically from the American model, and the system of developing young athletes is radically different in most of the rest of the world, this was not an issue in the early decades of the NBA.)
