Question by kris76:
How come in the NCAA teams can play night after night, but thats not the case in the NBA?
In tournaments college teams routinely play night after night, at least during conference and preseason tournaments, without hearing many complaints from the players. But in the NBA if a team plays a back to back they complain about fatigue, and how tough it is to play a back to back games.
Is it because college players are younger, or is it because the NBA game more physical and the season longer, or is it because the games in the NBA are longer? Just wondering if anyone had an idea. Thanks.

Answer by 2Pacaveli
If your pick is suppose to be ranged 8-12. Then your chance to get a 1st pick is very low. A 14th pick will always stay 14.
1-4 will decide who gets 1st 2nd 3rd 4th.

It’s basically Stern who decides the picks. Just like the one where they had 1st pick for Knicks

Answer by Rob K
It could have something to do with the fact that ex-ref Tim Donaghy was involved in betting on games, and giving favorable calls to the team’s he and his associates had money on. Other then that, there is no factual evidence the NBA is fixed. People tend to like to make jokes on it, because of their disdain for David Stern, and his love for money. For example, it was common last year to state “The NBA wants Lakers/Celtics Finals.” For money, of course, they probably did. Does that mean it was all rigged? Definitely not. Now this year it’ll be “The NBA wants LeBron/Kobe.” If it happens, is it because it was rigged? Nope. It’s just a tiny banter people often make when their teams do not get there or do not produce. Someone or something always has to be a scapegoat.

Question by lopochien:
How come some college players succeed in the NBA while others fail?
I do not comprehend why players like J.J. Reddick and Adam Morrison were not as successful in the NBA as other rookie, like Deron Williams. Is it because they simply failed to adjust to the game or is it because of the teams they are on?

I mean, I already have a feeling Tyler Hansborough will not make the transition from college to NBA while players like O.J. Mayo, Michael Beasley and Derrick Rose will very likely succeed.

This appears to have happen in the past too, as many of the college record holders are complete unknowns in the NBA.

——————————————

Answer by Jim W
Not everyone can maintain the level of competition or handle the pressures of being in the NBA. Granted, each player drafted (Even Kwame Brown LOL) was a great high school/college star, but there is always someone better.

Health has a lot to do with it too.

——————————————
