Is it possible for an NBA player to become a college basketball player?
Let’s assume that somehow a player got into the NBA without ever playing college ball and not signing an agent either. He plays for a few years and decided he wants to play NCAA basketball for whatever reason. Are there any rules that would prevent this from happening?

I do not see why NBA players should be barred from playing on NCAA teams if they do not play in the NBA at the same time. Is there some kind of rule stipulating that if you play in the NBA, you can never be a college athlete?

NCAA rules prohibit any professional athlete from competing in the NCAA. Therefore, by virtue of the fact that any player is an NBA player, they have been paid to play basketball, which bars them forever from playing on an NCAA team, even if they subsequently go to school.

So even if Lebron James decides to wise up and go to college, he cannot play hoops for his school.
